Founded in 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Art of Living Foundation's programs are guided by Sri Sri’s philosophy of peace: “Unless we have a stress-free mind and a violence-free society, we cannot achieve world peace.” To help individuals get rid of stress and experience inner peace, Art of Living offers stress-elimination programs that include breathing techniques, meditation and yoga. These programs have helped millions around the world to overcome stress, depression and violent tendencies.
We believe in caring for the environment and nurturing the mind and body. One of our ways to achieve these goals is to make yoga and meditation as accessible as possible to everyone. Our community yoga and meditation classes in the parks during the summer, and at our centre during the rest of the year, provide the ideal setting for honoring nature and ourselves. Join us and help create greater positivity and tranquillity within each of us and in our environment.
Situated in the heart of the plateau area, in Ville St-Laurent, Pointe-Claire and Brossard, the Montreal Art of Living Centres provides opportunities for the Montreal community to come together in a spirit of sharing and service. We hold regular community activities such as yoga and meditation classes, vegetarian cooking classes, breathing workshops where we teach the powerful Sudarshan Kriya technique as well as many other special events such as our annual Yogathon in support of Care for Children.
